This ministry is led by passionate young leaders who are deeply rooted in prayer and the Word of God: Yebeyo Tekie, Kidane Goytome, and Asmite.
This ministry is led by Pastor Yonas Mihretab, who has vast experience in ministry and a deep passion to see people set free. He is gifted in preaching, prophetic utterance, and deliverance, and is dedicated to helping individuals experience spiritual freedom and healing.
He leads a special prayer service on the last Saturday of each month, together with Abraham Gebre, focused on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, deliverance, healing, and offering prayer support for those in need.
The department is led by Awet Gebremussie, who is passionate about seeing people come to Christ.

This department is responsible for managing the church’s property and finances with accountability and integrity. It is led by Solomon, a dedicated senior leader of our church who also runs a successful delivery and car resale business.
Alongside him, we are grateful to have a team of accountants and volunteers who assist in managing our finances.
We have two choirs: Choir A, led by Yared Mehari, who is known for his songs and has released two albums. Choir B is led by Ermias (Tesfe), an amazing leader and songwriter of his own music, which has not yet been officially released.
This department is led by one of a senior leader Tewodros Teklemariam, a senior leader with extensive experience in ministry and church leadership, dating back to his time in Eritrea and Ethiopia, including work in refugee camps. He is assisted by Matthews, who also brings a wealth of experience in ministry. His preaching and teaching are inspiring and uplifting for many.
This ministry is led by Matusal Fekadu, a compassionate and dedicated leader committed to helping people and ensuring they have access to transportation for church services.
This ministry is led by Pastor Benyam, who is passionate about preaching, worship, and helping people connect and grow within the church community.
This department is led by our senior business Kokeb (Brian) Berhane, whose inspirational testimony serves as a source of motivation for many. He came to Canada with nothing and has since become a multi-millionaire, successfully leading companies such as Clean Means Clean Inc. and thriving as a real estate investor.
This ministry is led by Abraham Gebre, who is passionate about prayer and gifted in faith and intercession.
This ministry is led by Salem Gebrselassie, a registered nurse by profession, who has been ministering to children and youth for over 17 years. She is passionate about seeing young people live for Christ and grow in their faith.
This ministry is led by Ruth, who immigrated to Calgary, Canada at a young age and overcame numerous barriers to become a successful pharmacist. Drawing from her personal experience, Ruth is passionate about helping young people navigate similar challenges and empowering them to reach their full potential.
Our church journey began humbly in the basement where our dear brother, Yared Mehari, used to live. It all started with a small Bible study and prayer group of four people, and over time, others began to join us. With the mandate of our founding pastor, Samson Kinfemichael, and his leadership, we made a strong commitment not to take members from other churches, which meant it took a while to build a core group of individuals who were unchurched.
In February 2008, we officially launched our church at the Calgary Rehabilitation Center with about 20 people. Since then, our congregation has grown slowly but steadily. Our church has also played a significant role in supporting the establishment of other Tigrinya-speaking churches in Western Canada, including those in Regina, Saskatoon, and Vancouver, British Columbia.

At Peniel Church Calgary, we offer an authentic Tigrinya worship experience that allows you to deeply connect with God and feel His presence in a powerful way. Our Tigrinya worship services are designed to lift up the name of Jesus and invite the Holy Spirit into our hearts and lives.
Our messages are rooted in Scripture and designed to be practical and relevant to everyday life. Whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with God for years, you’ll find the teaching both challenging and encouraging.
